The world sharpens as your fingertips graze the screen—a ripple of light surges beneath them, alive and hungry. Static hums in your bones, the interface breathing in sync with your pulse. Colors bleed into shapes: a weapon? A map? A whispered secret? Every tap fractures possibilities, cascading into unseen corridors. You press harder—the glass trembles, resisting, then yields like skin. Symbols ignite, searing afterimages: a labyrinth of code, a heartbeat of servers. Your nail clicks against the surface, metallic and final. A tone shivers through the air—approval or warning? The cursor blinks, a predator’s eye. You don’t hesitate. The next touch isn’t a choice; it’s a detonation. Menus explode into motion, avatars howl to life, and somewhere deep in the machine, something awakens—and smiles.

The air crackles with tension as your boots scrape against rain-slicked tiles. You coil low, tendons taut like bowstrings, fingers brushing the tanto at your thigh. Below, torchlight sweeps across the courtyard—guards closing in. Now. Launch forward, soles slamming the rooftop’s edge as you kick off into nothingness. Wind screams past your mask. For one suspended heartbeat, you’re weightless—a shadow arcing over the fortress wall. Muscles remember the drill: tuck knees, roll through impact as cobblestones rush up to meet you. No time to savor the landing. Already moving, a blur between flickering lanterns, pulse hammering in rhythm with fleeing footsteps. They said this citadel was impregnable. They forgot to account for wings made of vengeance and bad decisions.
